 The park is found In Northern Tanzania  between two regions , Kilimanjaro and Tanga, stretching within two districts Lushoto and Same. .The park has the size of 3245 kmsq. The name Mkomazi came from the pare tribe, which means little water that can’t fill up a woden spoon .This was due to scarcity of water in the park.  


Diversity of flora and fauna.,the only protected area in Tanzania with large and visible  population of Gerenuk.

Endangered species particularly Black rhino and Wild dog.

The rhino are in the sactuary but will be released soon.

Large population of big and small mammals including  Wild cats ,silver backed jackal,Lions ,Cheetah ,Leopard ,Lesser kudu,Giraffes ,Grants  gazelle,Hyenas ,Hartbeest ,Warthogs ,Buffaloes ,Elephants , and Zebra.

 Is a 600-meter deep Crater. The Crater has a 19-kilometre diameter, making it one of the world’s largest unbroken and unflooded calderas. The park covers approximately 300-square-kilometres, where the landscape ranges from lush rain forest on the rim, to bush savannas’ and acacia woodland.

Ngorongoro is home to the highly endangered black rhino and large herds of wildebeest, zebra and buffalo. Predators such as lions, cheetahs & serval cats also live in the Crater; here there is plenty of opportunity to spot a hunt and the infamous Big Five. We will enjoy a picnic lunch before leaving the Crater – where plenty of wildlife can still be spotted. We will begin our drive back to Moshi/Arusha in the late afternoon.
